Engine diagnostic tools allow technicians and mechanics to ‘plug-in’ to your car systems – usually called an Engine Control Computer (ECU) – using a computer or specialist machine. This machine communicates with the engine to find out how all of the component parts are holding up. The machine runs tests then displays codes to the mechanic which can then be worked on. This takes a lot of the guesswork out of finding faults and speeds up the diagnostic process and eliminating errors from ordering parts saving everyone involved time and money.
